Arsene Arcand / Artist and Graphic Designer

Arsene Arcand is of Nehiyaw Cree ancestry, registered in Treaty 6 Territory, specifically with Alexander First Nation Kipohtakaw. He draws inspiration from his traditional and cultural background. Introduced to soapstone carving by his uncle, artist Leo W. Arcand, Arsene has explored various art forms since childhood, including painting and sketching.

Raised with the Nehiyaw way of life by his late grandfather, Arsene Joseph Arcand Sr., a spiritual leader and hereditary chief, Arsene has had his carvings commissioned by organizations and private collectors. His work has been gifted to notable individuals such as former Chief of the Assembly of First Nations Perry Bellegarde, Judge Cheryl Arcand-Kootenay, and Disney producer Jim Whitaker.
